FAQ
Do I really need a foam cannon to wash my car?
No, but a foam cannon makes the washing process much safer and easier. Thick foam loosens dirt and road film before contact washing, which helps reduce swirl marks and micro-scratches.
What soap should I use in a foam cannon?
Use a dedicated snow foam or foam cannon shampoo. These formulas are designed to produce thick foam and proper lubrication during the pre-wash stage.
How much soap should I put in a foam cannon?
Most foam cannons work well with approximately 60–120 ml (≈2–4 oz) of snow foam concentrate mixed with warm water in the bottle. Exact ratios depend on the shampoo used.
What pressure washer is needed for a foam cannon?
Most foam cannons perform best with pressure washers around 1,300–2,000 PSI and 1.2–1.6 GPM. However, results also depend on the snow foam formula and nozzle setup.
Can I use a foam cannon without a pressure washer?
No. A foam cannon requires a pressure washer to generate dense foam. If you only have a garden hose, you would need a foam gun instead.
Does snow foam replace hand washing?
No. Snow foam removes a large portion of contamination, but a contact wash with a wash mitt is still necessary for a fully clean vehicle.
Is snow foam safe for wax and ceramic coatings?
Yes. When used with a pH-neutral snow foam, foam cannons are safe for wax, sealants and ceramic coatings and help maintain protective layers during regular washes.
